You're confident in conversation.

So why does speaking under pressure feel so different?

So why does speaking under pressure feel so different?

In everyday life, you’re articulate.
Clear. Engaged. Yourself.

But put a camera in front of you -
or stand you up in a meeting, a presentation, or on a stage…
and something changes.

Your mind goes blank.
Your voice sounds flatter than it should.
Your words don’t quite land.

On camera, the lens feels like a void.
No faces. No feedback. Just silence staring back at you.

In rooms and meetings, all eyes are on you.
The pressure rises.
And suddenly, you’re managing yourself instead of speaking freely.

You get through it.
People are polite.
But there’s no spark. No connection. No sense that what you said really arrived.

Afterwards, you replay it all in your head.
What you meant to say.
What you wish you’d done differently.
That feeling that you weren’t quite you.

Here’s what you need to know:

Speaking isn’t a new skill.

You’re not a bad speaker.
You just lose access to yourself when the pressure’s on.

Lights on.
Eyes on you.
Expectations in the room.

Or a lens staring back at you, silent, blank, and unforgiving.

But when the stakes rise

The problem isn’t confidence.
And it’s not lack of talent.

It’s that under pressure, you stop seeing what’s actually happening -
and start guessing, controlling, or overthinking instead.

I’ll show you what you can’t see right now.
And once you can see it, you stop guessing and know exactly what to work on.

That’s what The Speaking Reset is about.

What We'll Do Together

This is not a masterclass where you sit and watch.
It’s a working session - but a safe one.

You won’t be put on the spot.
You won’t be asked to perform for the group.

You’ll be guided through a short, private exercise where you speak briefly using your phone to record, then learn how to review and analyse yourself properly, without judgement.

This is how live presenters learn. It’s how I learned.

Because you can’t fix what you can’t see.

Here's what we'll work on:

1.Find out what's actually holding you back
Whether that’s going blank, sounding robotic, flattening your energy, or over-controlling what you say.

2.Stay grounded when the pressure's on
I’ll show you how to keep your natural clarity and presence when your body wants to rush, freeze, or disappear - on camera or in a room.

3.Bring more presence without faking it
You don’t need to “project” or perform.
You need access to the energy you already have when you care about what you’re saying.

By the end of the session, you’ll have:

1. Clear awareness of what’s actually happening when you speak

2. A sense of what good practice really looks like

3. Clarity on what to work on next.

Think of this workshop like watching the playback before training begins.

Once you can see clearly, improvement stops being guesswork.

This is for you if:

You’re warm and articulate in real life, but go flat or stiff on camera.

You’re confident one-to-one but different in meetings or presentations.

You freeze or over-control yourself under pressure.

Your voice sounds flatter than it should when you care deeply.

You get through talks but walk away feeling disappointed.

You avoid speaking opportunities because of how they make you feel.

You don't need to become a performer. You just need to sound like yourself - wherever you’re speaking.

Who Am I?

I’m Mai Davies.

I spent 30 years presenting on live television with the BBC, ITV, and Sky News — anchoring flagship programmes and interviewing Prime Ministers.

Live.
Millions watching.
No second takes.

I wasn’t taught confidence in a classroom.
I learned in the trenches - on air, under pressure, with nowhere to hide.

For the past 15 years, I’ve worked with founders, leaders, executives, and speakers who want to feel more themselves when they speak - on camera, in meetings, and on stage.

I don’t teach from theory or performance models.
I teach the way live presenters learn - by learning how to see themselves accurately under pressure.

That perspective changes everything else.
It’s the foundation real confidence and ability are built on.

A Final Note

You don’t need to feel ready for this.
You don’t need to feel confident before you come.

If something in you recognised yourself while reading this, that’s enough.

I’d love to have you with us.
